Daddy Takechiyo and the Tokyo Otoboke Cats are an outstandingly technical comic band that took the world by storm with their parodies of famous artists, provocative lyrics, and ultra-radical performances.
The band debuted in 1978 with the single "Denki Jellyfish" and released their third single "False DJ" in 1980.
This one-of-a-kind collaboration resonates with Tatsuro Yamashita's sophisticated city pop-inspired song and Daddy Takechiyo's lyrics that make fun of radio DJs.
The B-side is the soulful "Easy Girl," a mix of song, funk, and Latin with a tight brass section at key points.
